Default Newb question!!!!

Just bought a 2000 s4 a couple weeks ago and boy do I ever love it. However I'm already having a problem with the heater. Unfortunately the car did not come with a owners manual. The heater worked the first week and now no air is comming out of any vents. I tried leaving it on auto but it's not working. It seems like its trying to work because the lights keep lights up on the display. They go up to like 6 bars and then down to 0 bars, and this process keeps repeating. I did look in some forums under heater problems but I'm hopping that I'm just not doing something right because it would suck if theres a bigger problem than me just not knowing how to work the controls. Can anyone help me please??? Its starting to get cold out and I really need my defrost to work...

Does the fan motor even kick on? Check to make sure your heater core hoses are getting hot coolant. If neither of those two have any problems try resetting the system using a scan tool.

Thanks for the response, the fan motor doesn't kick on and I'm not sure where to look for the heater core. Is there a fuse that I can check, I looked for the fuse box under the sterreing wheel but I can't seem to find it, does that whole panel have to come off, or am I looking in the wrong spot? Also where can I get a scan tool and what do I do with it if thats the problem. Can the system be reset by unplugging the battery?
