Default Newbie needs help with license plate lights....

Hello all, and thank you for responding if you can help us...

We are new Audi owners...just bought a used '98 A4 Quattro. We've been having problems with the lighting above the rear plate. Changed the bulbs (replaced with 6418's), checked the fuse, and also cleaned contacts. Still, no lights.

Anyone with suggestions on what else we can do to see some light? =)

Thanks,

WSD

replace the fuse with one of the spare ones. sumtimes a fuse will blow but u won't be able to tell visually. if that still doesn't work, then u have to check the wires going to the light. get a volt meter to check the voltage in the wires

Your connection points are probably corroded(sp). I had the same problem for my '01. It was a 100 somthing dollar fix at the stealership.

Thanks so much for the help!

This is my wife's new baby and I have no idea how to care for it....lol. Learning at my age will be a new experience! I have to admit, however, that this is one beautiful automobile!

You've both given me great places to start. Thank again for the help!
