Default newbie question

If this is a completely asanine question you will have to forgive but I'm new to the audi-world. I plan on buying an A4 by the end of this month or beginning of nov. I have searched but can't find much in the way of performance mods for the v6 a4's. I'm not looking for anything too crazy, maybe an exhaust or a chip but I haven't seen anything yet. Are there any chips for the v6??

Are you talking about an '06 (B7) A4? If so, I'm wondering what drives you toward the V6 3.2. The 2.0T is a fabulous car. I drove them both before I bought mine and there simply wasn't any reason that I could feel in the seat of my pants that compelled me to consider the 3.2. You can get the 2.0T, add 600 bucks for the APR chip and have better performance than the stock 3.2, and save yourself about 8 grand. Also, the weight distribution is better.

the chips wont do much for you regardless of what year V6 your after. as for the exhaust, thats on of the few bolt ons that do anything.

If you're already researching mods for an A4 you haven't bought yet, DON'T GET A V6. A chipped four-cylinder A4 is faster than its V6 counterpart, as well as cheaper, and more economical. And if you ever want to do more, you can.

Sorry if I wasn't clear on the model, I was referring to the b6 3.0. I test drove all three cars; b6 3.0, b7 3.2, b7 2.0t. I felt like the "smoothest" drive was in the 3.2, but that could be b/c I was only test driving all the cars in automatic. Then when I got home I was looking at what was available for these cars and saw how much CHEAP power could be drawn from the 2.0t* and I was amazed.
*I say cheap b/c I'm coming from a wrx where it takes a lot of money to make a little power* Should I have taken a step back and test driven the b6 1.8t?? Or is the 2.0t that much more impressive??

the 3.0 will need a supercharger to really perform.

all you need is a chip for the 1.8t
