I am a newbie to this site from the Seattle area. I have owned my '96 A4 Quattro for two years though. I got it tinted not long after I bought it 15% all around, and recently Got H&R springs and bilstein shocks put on. As well as an exhaust muffler and pipes of an '01 S4, and smoked side markers. I absolutely love the look and sound of it now. Hopefully the couple pics I have attached show up. I have some projector headlights at my place but just have to find the time to put them in.

Now for a question or two, I am about to go out and get new plugs and wires. suggetions?? I am also looking at getting a set of Kuhmo SPT 205/55/16. Is anyone running these tires or have opinions on kuhmo?? right now I just have crappy Defender tires on it.

Yeah, they are going bad. I have noticed a few misfires, and I know the last person who had it didn't really spend the money on really quality stuff. I have a little extra money right now with my tax return coming in so I want to get some normal maintinance stuff done.

 

Hey welcome to the forum, plug wires are going to run you about 130 do you have an independent mechanic you use? What part of Seattle?

 

are u sure the miss fires are because of the plugs, do u have a cel? or a vag com

 

Im guessing your a 12v v6, .... plugs and wires, air filter, oil filter and change are good to do as a tune.. also the cabin air filter..


Kumho are nice tires for the money.. You could spend more and get some Yokohamas, but w/ quattro I dont get any slippage.

 

Yeah, I know thats what it is. I work at an auto body shop and know my stuff pretty well. I also had a buddy who works at a shop we out source some of our work to take a look at it and he said the same thing.

Also, change your fuel filter.. its probably going to cost you some money to get it done, but you could easily do it yourself..

 

Easily!? Haha I remember helping my dad change the fuel filter on his 96... it was a bastard. So awkard... maybe a hoist would make it easier... I can't really remember.
