Noise From Driverside Wheel
After starting the car and putting the car in gear and starting to drive, whether in 1st or reverse, there is a noise from the front driverside wheel area like a release spring (or some kind of noise) when letting the clutch out. Has anyone heard of this or noticed it before? Is it normal? The noise never happens again when driving after that, only the first time you move forward or reverse when the clutch is released after you start the car. Please letme know if you anything about this. I just bought the car and I amwondering if this is something major or not.
I cant feel grease on the inside of the wheel. Im not sure if its something that needs grease, because its not someyhing that happens everytime you shift. It only makes the sound the first time you move after starting the car. After that you can stop and go as many time and the sound no longer occurs, but if you shut off the engine and restart it, the sound will occur the first time you move foward or reverse. I shut down the engine and started it, and everytime it makes that noise the first time you move then never occurs again for the rest of the trip, thats why I was wondering if there is a safety release or something that releases when you first drive your car, maybe something that assists you on a hill so you dont roll backward or some kind of lock on the wheel that releases.
Well my audi makes a werid not grinding but like ratleing noise in first gear only and the dealership said that its not hurting the car. He said to fix it it would cost way to much. So I just left it and 50k later.......nothing!
