anyone know what the noise that stays on for a few seconds after the ignition is turned off is? after getting chipped, new DV and doing a CAI mine is a little louder. I don' think its the fan... just wondering if you guys knew...

 

I know someone knows this... air pump or alternator???? no idea.. help a brother out

 

can someone please help me? I opened the hood and the noise is coming from over near the airbox possibly under the airbox. I really need to know what the noise is it sounds terribly not too loud inside the car but very obvious under the hood. it comes and goes and seems to come on louder once the engine is warm. then i turn off the ignition and it goes off a few seconds after the engine turns off... its king of a low whooooooooooo sound almost a low tone whistle... sounds kind of like air..... can anyone help me identify and/or provide a fix for this? I really appreciate it. thanks...

 

this happened to one of my friends...he freaked out and took it to the mechanic...turns out
when u'r car gets old it takes some time for it to cool down...so it make sputtering noises...
is it something like that?

 

dude are u sure your not just hearing the turbo?

 

the noise doesn't go on at first then i let it idle and it comes and goes and after a few it goes on constant. sounds like its coming right from the air filter or right under it. not really sputtering but like woooooooo... and then stays on a second after i turn of the ignition.... then tapers right off.... is there an air pump under there or something that needs to be cleaned? the car made this noise before i modded anything just not as loud i would be surprised if other cars of this year didnt make the same noise... I appreciate the responses.... keep em coming PLEASE!

no unfortunately i don't i think i'm just going to reverse my CAI and see if that fixes thiings....

i don't know what else to do if no one else has had this...

just put the stock air box back in with drop in filter and such...
