Default noisy leak under bonnet

Hi,

my Audi, has what sounds like a noisy exhaust, seems the leak is under the bonnet, and I suspect is between/around the cat and the turbo. Anyone had a similar prob and know how to fix it? I can smell exhaust fumes around that area too..

Is your turbo a lot louder since you noticed this? Its sort of common for the weld on thcat flange against the turbo to crack and leak. Havent you taken a look under the hood yet?

Mos common is the flex pipe. Get under the car and try to trace the noise.

cheers, thanks for reply,

I havent had a good look yet, not always easy to find'the' leak, thought might be a common fault. The turbo actually makes a noise that sounds like there is a police car siren in the background - the audi mechanic who inspected it beforeI purchased said the sound was bit unusual. Could defintely be due to leak around turbo. thanks
