Had two codes po301 and po422 figured out what they ment but didnt clear them, went to work this mornig check engine light still on, drove home from work, no more check engine light.. whats the deal with that??

Hmmm, sometimes turning the car on and off resets certain systems so maybe it corrected itself. That happens with me lights every once in awhile. It light warning will come on. I'll stop and do something come back and turn the car on and everything is fine. Go figure, like everyone else I'm just glad I don't end up at the dealers.

 

Didnt you already have a thread about those codes a few days ago?? Or were they different?

 

P0301 = misfire cylinder 1
P0422 = main catalytic converter bank 1 below threshold/wiring/HO2S 2.

if the CEL has gone off don't worry about it but if it comes on again the P0422 is the problem

 

yea same codes.. changed the plugs with one ones you said to, put an MBC to get ride of the surging and changed the two 02 sensors.. car runs better then it has ever run.. but the codes cleared b4 i did any of the changes.. it was really hot and humid the day i got the codes 94 and the humity was nutty..

 

a common problem is the o2 sensor HO2S 2 bank 1, if you drive through cold water and it hits the sensor is shocks the system and a code is set but goes away if your lucky when it re-heats up other wise the sensor is damaged (worth noting for the off roader)
