I use Syn oil...only the best

actually I just looked into this for another member on the forums and if it is your oil pump Audi does not cover it on the 01's 2000 and down they cover it

wtf why only 2000 down??

if this is the case how much is this going to cost me?

Good to know.. S R N83, the oil pump i think is less than $100 from ecartoys.. But the labor is something else.

I hear its about an 8 hour job. So roughly $700 just for labor at the dealer. DIY!!! Actually Id do it anyway, Audi will charge you over $100 just to find out the problem im guessing. I say replace the pump yourself.. Do a flush and go from there.

ok well that's one senario...how big are the chances that it would be sludge if i use syn oil???

are you using the updated filter the sludge program is becoming more and more popular on the 1.8T's
