It was raining hard and through my fogged up windshield I couldn't see the abnormally high curb at the gas station. It had to be over a foot high. So there I was with a blown tire, ripped off valence and a pool of oil under my car, outfvckingstanding. Then I had to wait TWO fvcking hours for the cops. Because apparently in NYC geico can't tow the car without a police report, and I'm sitting on the border of NYC and westchester county so dispatch couldn't figure out which dept. should come get me. From the little I could see there oil pan wasn't touched but the filter is dented and the leak is coming from around there. Hopefully its just the filter and not the oil cooler...what a night, I need a drink.

 

ouch man. sry that happened to you. my car fogs up all the time too, inside and out. i hope it's just a messed up filter. you should check your suspension and the wheel too since you even blew the tire.

 

Bummer, you'll need a lower oil pan, they crack like tooth picks when they take an impact. The good news they aren't that expensive.

 

i feel for u man... i live in that area and those gas stations are rediculous...i dont think its the oil pan.. i flew off a huge dent in the road (the bronx) and pretty much landed on my bumper and oil pan and it was fine except a pretty serious scratch onthe oil pan...good luck.

 

that sucks man, ive driven in the city a million times and i hate those high curbs.

 

Update: The oil pan is intact no damage. But the front part that holds the radiator and all the other stuff is cracked and bent. The leak is coming from the oil filter that got smashed in by the front end. Still haven't checked the suspension yet. Overall its not too bad, insurance is gonna cover everything and I already got a rental.

 

glad your covered but what a bummer. the few times i drove in nyc i was shocked at the curbs and how torn up the some of the roads were....it has to be hard on your car.

 

By far the worse car swallowing roads are in Manhattan, followed closely by brooklyn. Felt like was offroading on flatbush ave saturday night. Where I'm at around north Bronx isn't too bad. This reminds me of my friend in his b6 who went over a massive speed up. The car just stalled out and wouldn't start.
