I have a 01 A4 2.8Q, and everyone that I go to for aftermarket items, keeps telling me that the engine is maxed for power. I have heard that the GIAC chip can increase as much as 9 hp, but I have heard that is a lie. I cannot find a decent cold air intake for the engine. I cannot find a decent exhust. I can find awsome suspension components. So now I am in a predicament as to whether I get rid of the car and buy a 2001 S4? Not sure what problems the S4 has? I drive about 600 miles a week and I need a car that will not break. I do not mind taking care of my audi, I know they tender love and care. I need advice on what the hell to do. My A4 is mint, perfect shape, and I am totally disgusted with the news. Any help, PLEASE!

Currently I drive 700-800 per week with my 2000 1.8TQ. It now has 120K miles (40K since chipped) and has been a reliable perfomer.

Many more mods available, reasonable power, ability to upgrade to the K04, and I get 30 mpg.

S4 is going to cost you in gas and insurance, but if you can afford it, go for it.

if u got the moeny theres a supercharger for your car
besides that theres not really any mods for your car and i dont kno how reliable is a supercharger on the 2.8

 

there are decent exhausts that will give you a few horses, i think neuspeed makes one and there are at least 2 others, probably more. check out the "audi links" sticky at the top of this forum and look around on the "performance parts" sites listed there. the GIAC chip will give you a good 8-10HP. check www.evoms.com for a good intake. there's a supercharger as panda said that will make your car amazing, you can check it out at www.pes-tuning.com

 

I hear dteh supercharger is amazing and very reliable. go on to superchargedaudi.com and tehy have a forum liek this about that kind of stuff. I only knwo of teh avant gard exhaust, neuspeed exhuast, the one on lltek.com and u have the option of custom. When i do mine i think im going custom. They actually arent too much more and some are less b/c the demand for custom exhuast is high and low demand for 2.8 exhuast so they are expensive.
