Default Had K04 installed! Ran into something strange... Anyone have input?

Hey guys,
I had my K04 turbo w/ 225TT injectors installed yesterday along with the GIAC FXK04 programing, but once we put it on the dyno we were having really poor readings... Max power is only 165hp, and torque is 220ft/lbs... I am a front wheel drive 2004 A4 1.8T and we suspect that since the rear wheels are not spinning that maybe the car is going into a "safe mode" of some sort and not allowing the car to run to 100%. at about 5000rpms on the dyno it completely drops off. I will try and post a pic of the dyno printout as I hope some of you may know more about this than I and have a suggestion. Now here's why we think it's because the rear wheels are not spinning... When we take it on the road it drives GREAT! Definitely can tell that it's a K04 and not my previous chipped K03. It's very obvious; the sound, the drive, pretty much everything says its not a 160whp car on the road and unlike the dyno readings its driving strong up to redline and not cutting out at 5000rpms like when on the dyno. The shop I got the work done with is in contact with GIAC to get this straightened out, but I just thought I'd see if anyone here had any input.

For the record, Euro Styles East (ESE) is an outstanding shop with a great crew of guys that know what they are doing. They were great to deal with and I highly recommend them to anyone that would want aftermarket work done on their audi. I'm going back up next month to get my clutch done along with anything else I can find to spend my money on :P

Any input concerning the K04 situation would be greatly appreciated thou! Although the dyno results are sort of disappointing, the ride DEFINITELY is not... I just want the numbers on paper to back up what I am feeling is all. Thanks

JB

? Do you need a 5 bar FPR? Do you need a new MAF?

Has anyone else had an experience like this with the K04 install? I'd be interested to hear if anyone else with FWD has done a K04 upgrade and see if they had this sort of issue. Thanks

I have a 4bar FPR and I was running rich after 5000rpm's so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a lack of fuel problem. This car only has 11500mi's on it so I'd say the stock MAF is fine and since I didn't go with a "big" turbo I think that would is adequate. To tell you the truth I wasn't the one running the car during the dyno runs, but since it was running fine up to around 5000rpm's I don't think the ESP being on or off would have made any difference, but I'll ask and see what they have to say on it. I figure I would have been having problems long before 5000rpms if ESP was going to have an impact on the runs. Any other ideas guys???
