Default OBD software options

We all use Ross-tech's software to scan and log our audi's. My question is can I use the ebay cable that I have for other cars? Are there any good softwares out there that do the same thing for other makes as ross-tech for audi's?

its all down to how many pins Audi use on the connector which is the difference between other cars,
basically no it wont work on other cars other than VW/Audi/Skoda

There are many "readers" and "CEL reseters" that work on almost all common ODBII cars but you cant change stuff with them like the vagcom can.

Here is one that I have and so far has worked well for me:

VAG was made for Audi plus its counter parts but that's it so only good for that,
digimoto is ok with many euro cars ( its the interface that's the issue ) most software works with a good interface but the 16 pin plug has to have all the cables connected to each pin

Thats all I'm really looking for is a reader/resetter that will work with my cable. Anyone else have programs they use?
