Default ODB scanner from ebay?

Anyone have one of these? I want a VAGCOM but can't really get one right now. What do you guys think, do they work?

If the ladies don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy!

If it does what it says... might not be a bad little tool for $40, but it's use it pretty limited from the looks of it.

Yeah those are good as long as you can read and clear codes thats all that really matters in a basic OBD tool like that. A lot of them will read codes but not clear, so those look good.

they do see and clear the codes I can vouch for that and 40$ is cheap when you consider what the dealers charge to put it on their test gear and the extra charge to turn the CEL off then the lies they tell you of what they really didn't do to screw your wallet ( I worked in the garages so I know ) to be forewarned is to be forearmed

I bought a similar one on E-Bay from E-Bay Store

One Smart Move Inc
They are not selling any now.

Those you're looking at should be good. They should
read the error codes from the 4 computers and clear them.

I bought a real vagcom. Can do logging, programming, check all the electrical systems, radio and ABS which generic OBD systems don't do. Can check engine performance, boost pressure, engine output, and run diagnostic tests etc.

What is more, when I sell my car, I'll put the vagcom on ebay and sell it for 50 dollars less than I paid for it.

So where is the savings in an ebay scanner?

If you don't have a lap top computer, it's the only
way to read and reset error codes.

Unless you get a really long serial extension/usb adapter for your desktop.
