Default odd flashing cel

I have not had a chance to see what it was. my vag-com is at home but i filled up at the gas station today and like most days i just left my car running and when i was done the cel was flashing.. I should say that while i was pumping the gas the idle was all over the place while i was fueling up.. very odd

You should turn the engine off when refueling.

If I'm not mistaken, if the engine is running while the gas cap is off, there is some kind of vapor leak detected by the ECU (I had a similar problem when I had a defective gas cap that wasn't sealing properly, my CEL came on and the dealership scanned it, it was some kind of vapor leak DTC).

Scan it and see what came up. Your fuel pressure might've dropped when filling the car.

Yeah that makes sense, and that is pretty much what I sometimestell people that are refueling with their engine running at the same time. They feel so stupid and sometimes run and kill the engine. I love it (No offense johnny, please dont vice my head in your bicepts and flex [X(])
Flashing CEL is a misfire... If your engine is running with the gas cap off, that might cause a pressure drop-possibly reducing flow from the fuel pump to injectors.... Thats my only explanation for it if it went away after you were done fueling.

but in the long run can be bad for the car

car won't cool down in that 5 minutes or so....... also can cause a spark and make the car catch fire
