One of the wheels - 5 spoke, 5 bolt non-sport alloy from a 2.8 FWD car - split at the bead lip, causing a slow leak. Audi wants $325 for a new one, but I'm sure I can get a complete take-off set of the same or better/newer/different off ebay for roughly the same price.

They have to be 16" because we recently put really good new tires on it, the crack developed a few months later. Not sure how it happened, especially since it's on the inside of a rear wheel, but my guess is that a valet parker backed it over something in a weird way, or it's a casting defect that became a crack over time. Who knows, I just gotta fix it ASAP.

Anyway, I rummaged through the archives and couldn't find anything definitive. Apparently some VW wheels have the proper offset, but some don't. S4 wheels won't fit, and that's about all I could figure out. Can anyone tell me which other Audi's or VW's came with 16" alloys that have the proper bolt pattern and offset for this car?

Thanks very much!

Kevin

the year would definately help...I'l guess it's a 1998 (cuz that's what I have)

you should look for a bolt pattern of 5x112 and an offset between 32-38...

good luck on you search!

here's a set of what i think you have now *HERE*
(providing you have a B5)

I think these would be the only 16's I wouls put on my car in 16" *RS4 Reps*

you could always just buy a single replacement wheel on eBay instead of buying a set.

I would NOT buy a new set of wheels in 16", if you're gonna go with a new set of wheels go 17-18" and get some width going as well 8-9"...the wider they go the better you'll handle

good luck!

Thanks for the link, I missed that one. It's a 2000, as it says in the subject line. Those are the nicer 7 spokes from the sport package, which this car doesn't have. It's for my fiancee's car - if it was mine I would have put 17's and other fun stuff on it a while ago, she just wants a comfortable, no-fuss car to drive.

No, it's a mini wheel, unfortunately. I'm gonna call some local scrap yards, which this being LA, should turn up something since B5 A4's were very popular here. I don't see very many with the same wheels though which is either good or bad; maybe I'll find a deal on the much more popular 7 spokes, or pull a part from a runout out or wrecked A4 with the same (rare) wheels for cheap.

BTW, the last link you provided are repro's of the same wheels. Thanks but no thanks, if the OEM part cracked there's no way I'm gonna put a Chinese copy of it on the car, which that almost certainly is; the Chinese don't have to meet TUV standards, and if there's a TUV mark cast into the wheel it's BS. I was at my local Audi-only indy shop a couple weeks ago when they received an oil pan from Audi that was marked "Made in Germany." No freakin' way was it made in Germany, the casting quality was junque compared to the OEM part they were replacing it with. So bad that the shop had to de-bur casting flashes off it just to make it fit.

But thanks for looking, I really appreciate it.
