i did the exact same thing yesterday except mine is tiptronic.....now the car wont move so i have to tow it and pay to get it refilled with fluid....i tried to do it myself with a pump today but for some reason the tranny fluid wasnt pumping into the tranny.....it was coming out faster than it was being pumped in......now i gotta big mess in my lot + i have to pay for tranny fluid refill.....not how i planned a simple oil change!!!

YES MY STUPID friend realized he drained his tranny lol. I told him to make sure that was the oil drain hes like everyone told him it was but on a manual car so he drianed the tranny, and had 8 quarts of oil in the engine lol. but good thing he did it his tranny oil was BLACK not good we drained it and filled it and got the oil drained to. Thanks for ALLL your help. ANd his car has 106k on it so they recomend 10w40 for the car so he used mobile one gold cap fully syntehic.
Glad you figured it out... But tell your friend that even if he had 200k miles on his engine, it would still be recomended to use the correct oil viscosity.

hahaha yes his car is tiptronic to so he did the same but luckly the nicest spanish immigrant mechanic worked across the street from me and only charged him 50$ to fix his mistake by change the oil and draining the rest of the tranny fluid and add some nice new red fluid to it. And as far a the vicusity of the oil or what ever thats all up to my friend idk the mechanic told him cause high mileage he recomends 10w40 but he put 10w30 in the car so its all on his hands he told me that with the mobile one syntehic oil he really could feel the throttle response he told me his gas pedal got pretty hard lol.

Dude, if he has a tiptronic he uses ATF (red wine collor). I have a 5 speed and my fluid was a dark honey color. Listen to the verterans here... they know whats going on.

yeah, if you put red in it, you got the wrong color fluid.
