oil changes/service
so i'm coming up on my major service milage (160,000kms/100,000 miles) and i was wondering how much people have paid for their 100,000 mile service.. i went to the local dealership and was told its $300CAD initially and obviously any repairs needed to be done will be on top of that.. sounds like a fair deal to me so far.. then i was also told that it would be $150CAD for an oil change.. where does everybody get their oil changed?? do you guys take it to the dealership or to any local oil and lube shop?!
I just did my oil change this weekend at 158xxx km, if you feel up to it, it's a fairly easy DIY (btw, I have a 2002 1.8T). If you are interested, here is a write up I did on AW. This is just the oil change though, if there are other issues you want to get looked at, maybe a shop would be better.
The scheduled maintenance descriptions in Bentley stop at 155000km.

thats an awesome write up. i wasn't sure about doing it myself.. i thought 'there must be a reason why it costs $150 to change the oil in this sucker..'
i've done an engine swap on my nissan already so i guess i can say i'm mechanically inclined..

There's nothing "special" about oil changes in Audis, as long as you use the proper oil and filter. Dealerships charge a lot because, well, they can... they figure those who can afford Audis can afford $150 oil changes.
