Can someone tell me exactly how much oil should be put in a 97 Audi A4 1.8t?

 

Also. I just added some more oil so a total of 4.25 quarts is in the engine. Several posts on the Audi forums says to add 4.5 quarts but several say 4.2 quarts. My dipstick is telling me that the oil level is right at the lowest part of the thatched area. I would like to add some more but will it be safe? thanks

 

this probably is a stupid question, but since its like 2 degrees outside Id rather ask then go look... How long do you guys think it will take to put the new dipstick plastic piece on and does the intake manifold have to come off, or will a pair of plyers pulling up on it get it off?

 

went to vw dealership paid 4 dollars for a dipstick. Hope it solves the problem

 

my dipstick is broken too where is the oil suposed to be is there a mark In the dipstick like when is full or empty....
