The cheapest way is for him to check the oil pressure. Given the history of these cars, it is most likely sludge. Start collecting up your oil change receipts. Do not drive the car until you have diagnosed the problem. If the oil light comes on again, immediately stop the car and have it flatbedded to a garage.

 

Yeah honestly, if it is the pump you may fry your internals. I hope it is just your sensor, but more often than not its the screen clogged and the pump failing.

 

Yep the pic is from Devils Reject but the clown, Sid, I believe, appears in both movies.

Got the car back today and it seems fine. Light has been off. No strange noises, no drop in power. They said that it looked like just a leaky old sensor. I'm still gonna closely follow this one tho.
