Oil Pressure Light, In-dash CD player
2003 A4 1.8T Q
Question (1)
Oil pressure light appeared...Oil level is fine, and temperature is where it should be
-the car was about due for an oil change...oil was changed and new filter installed...light still came on
(2)
The in-dash 6 cd player always makes a funny noise, even when the car is turned off, sounds like it changing cds internally??
A few days ago, cds would play and then randomly there would be an error and the cd would stop, this happens in all the slots
-if insert the cd back in, it will play and then stop again

1) you have oil sludge, gather up all your reciepts and have the dealer repair it, its free if you have records of all your oil changes.
2) If you have the in-dash 6 cd changed the entire radio unit needs to be replaced. If you have the trunk mounted 6 cd changer, that needs to be replaced.

Sounds like you have engine sludge. You might be lucky and it is just the oil pressure sender (highy unlikely). Do not drive the car. Have it flatbedded to a garage and have them check the oil pressure.
I have a very similar situation on my car (96 a4 2.8 12v FWD 137k).
The oil pressure is being checked right now in a shop.
I do a lot of my own oil changes, so do not have regular receipts so I assume the dealership would not be able to offer me any help if it turned out to be oil sludge problems.
If that were the case, does anyone have suggestions as to what type of place I should have fix the problem and what the typical cost is that would be associated with it?
