hey everyone,

So, I got the oil can on my display and a few beeps this morning. The manual says that it's an oil pressure problem. There's also a light "ticking" sound when I start the car that I've recently noticed. Does this sound like a failing oil pump, or could it just be the oil pressure sensor?

A OIL Pressure gauge might be a good investment.

how do you hook one of those up, and what's the optimal pressure that you're looking for?

So with an electric gauge you basically hook into the oil pressure sensor wiring?

 

correct

 

just ensure you get the right gauge ( electric ) because there are 2 types and one is mechanical where you would need to change the sensor so it has an oil feed pipe to the gauge from the sensor so more expensive and a sod to fit

I started to experience the same problem a few days ago. As soon as a take off, the oil pressure light comes on and beeps for a while. I also noticed that the oil temperature thermostat does not move at all. Can you tell me what worked for you?

Check the dip stick. This could be a sludge problem.

 

Could be sludge! You shouldn't drive the car with the red oil can coming on AT ALL. I'd tow it to Audi and have them look at it.
