Oil Pressure Warning????
So I've had an issue arrive on my 2004 Audi A4 1.8t.
It seems that the Oil Pressure warning light comes on at random and then turns off (I have no other warnings come on). Normally it comes on after driving for a little while - never a specific length. Anything from 10-40 minutes. Lately I've noticed it only comes on during low RPMs - usually when I'm traveling in the city/stop & go traffic. I've had the problem with the oil pressure warning come and go for a few months. I've tried to replace the Oil Pressure Switch, which made the problem go away for a about a month and then it returned.
I've spent time researching the issue and began canceling certain problems out:
Sludge:
Well, I make oil changes regularly when the local Audi service center recommends and did that since I acquired the car at 60k miles (it's at 99k at the moment, I've had the car for a little over 4 years). They have never complained of discoloration or any other signs of sludge. I'd imagine they would if there was, so they could make some extra cash off of me. The minor change in the last year, since the problem started was I got a groupon deal to get oil changes and tried a non-audi service dealer shop (Maybe they used synthetic oil that isn't think enough causing the poor pressure?).
Oil Pressure switch.
Initially I replaced the original switch on this car accidentally. Instead of doing the coolant sensor, I did the oil pressure. Beginners mistake... The wiring housing that clips onto the switch, I did accidentally break the clipping mechanism. So the housing is only held on by the housing no other mechanism (could it be poor connectivity? But why only at low RPMs?). The housings are not damaged, it's only the clip that the wiring holds onto the sensor with is.
I'm getting confused and annoyed by the light coming on and off. It beeps, so it gets irritating.
Anyone know what the issue may be? I'm going to take it in for an early oil change in the next week and request that the local non-audi auto service center use 0-40 synthetic oil that I read is more effective. Maybe it'll fix the problem.
But for the time being, do any of you know or understand the cause of this? I

Hey,
I went through this a couple of months ago and got every reccomendation except rotaing my tires.
I finally solved the problem by looking for and fixing vacuum/pressure line leaks.
Main ones that seem to disintergrate are the ones coming off the back of valve cover going down to oil filter assembly. I also replaced PCV at the same time.
Problem solved - it was a pretty time consuming project as they didn't make them easy to access but not brain surgery either.
Mine is an 2004 A4 1.8T with approx. 85K and the hoses were toast.
The way I look at it - these hoses need to be replaced at some point and this beats pulling the oil pan to clean it out!
