Ok pretend we are not on a Audi forum for a minute, you can return to reality after reading and replying . OK I ahve narrowed the search for a car down to 2 cars one being an audi a4 2.8Q auto and a 2001 subaru legacy awd auto. The subaru Has 38k and the audi has 58k, both have equal specs except the audi has more power and slightly better gas mileage. Is there anything with an audi at this mileage I should look for other then the timing belt? I need a car that will be a reliable daily driver until Im finished with my second degree and can work full time again. Let me know what you think

I have driven one of those subaru legacy autos and it was a nice car, i didnt like the auto tranny though it was shifting all over the place.

When you look at an audi then a subaru right away people think the audi is nicer, and im going to agree. Audi is built with more quality parts which tells you this that it should hold up better. I would go with the audi. Holds its value better also

The only reson I looked elsewhere is the exspense of an audi. The fact that I have to do a timing belt right after I get the car worries me. I maintain my cars well so thats not the worry, anyone know of a good aftermarket warranty company?

Im not going to attempt a timing belt on a car ive never even seen under the hood of. Plus I dont have any space to do so at my apartment, what would it cost at a dealer or shop?
