Only I could screw up "debadging"
There seems to be some residue left where the badges were. It is grey in color and nothing (even Goo-Gone) is not taking it off. I even tried the buffer...did I take some paint off in the process or what?
How old is your car. The older your car is that still have the badges on is going to be harder to remove depending on your weather climate. Mine wont come off, i've tried buffing it, goo gone, goof off, rubbing compound. I may try to reheat it and try goo gone but i highly doubt it will work on my car. good luck
I used laquer thinner applied it lightly to where the residue was left, rubbed it in a little bit, and wiped it off. Then I compunded it in those two spots and waxed it. It took all of like 10 minutes and the residue was gone. My friend told me to use laquer thinner I was kinda leery about using it, but he's a professional auto painter and said it would'nt hurt. So I did and it worked great.
I live in a pretty mild California, coastal environment so I doubt thats what is causing it to stubborn...but then again its 96 so 9 years old...maybe for my graduation I will see a new A3
