for some reason my car will only start if i give it some gas, it will stay running if i keep my foot on the gas but as soon as i let of it dies, any ideas? ,, plugged fuel filter? fuel pump, battery?

It could be anything, temperature sensor, vacuum leak, etc

uhh, if it stays running giving it gas then you can drive it...

There could be a lot of issues with the car, like david said.

 

i walked out to my car this morning, and it started.. wierd... im still going to have the codes checked and the battery tested. I dont wanna get stranded anywhere

 

Reset the throttle body.

If your car is drive by wire you can reset the throttle body. Disconnect the battery for 20 minutes. Make sure you have the radio security code. Connect the battery. Turn the key part way, do not turn engine over. Wait 2 minutes. Now, start the engine

that suckes man the exact same thing happend to my 97 jeep grand cherekoee. i cant remember what the guy sait it was but it was funny beucase after2 days the truck went back to normal and the prob never came back..sorry icant help but i know how much ofa pain in the *** it is.
