For everyone that doesnt know I have a 98 2.8Q 30V sitting in my driveway waiting to either be towed away or parted out. I have finally found a replacment A4, same engine and year as mine but it has a blown motor. The guys is selling it for 3000, not salvage, great condition interior and paint, tint with exhaust. Only thing is it has a blown motor. Now, would I be able to take the motor out of mine and put it in this one?? is it hard to do>?
If you're mechanically inclined and have the tools you'll need (engine hoist mainly), an engine swap isn't that hard. It's just time consuming. And if it is the same year and same engine, they should swap without an issue
Direct Engine swap is pretty simple. If your afraid to do it yourself you can take it to a shop and they will usually do it for between 800-1400 which you could then turn around and make back parting out the rest of your old car...
