Opinions on this used CPO A4
Hi guys
Looking to purchase my first fully self-funded car. The budget I set myself is ~$25k, mainly looking for a comfortable, reliable car that I can use to commute to and from work. I would like to stick to EU manufacturers.
I don't know much about Audis (used to have a 2008 GTI), so wanted to gauge opinions on a CPO 2013 Audi A4 quattro premium plus I found with 24k miles selling for 30k.
The car has
- a original window sticker price of $40k.
- Carfax says 1 previous owner (leased for 1 year and 9 months).
- Owner serviced the car @ the original dealer twice before selling it back to the same dealer.
- At 5k miles regular maintenance/service was performed
- At 15k miles the ecu was reprogrammed and the power steering motor was replaced
- At 21k miles car was sold back to the dealer and the the 25k mile service was performed, brake fluids flushed/changed, electrics checked, A/C refrigerant recharged and wheels were checked.
- 3 months later the car had its cabin air filter replaced/cleaned and battery/charging system/starter checked, after which it was listed for sale as a CPO.
- the car has been offered as a CPO for 5 months now
The sales guy showed me his 'book' and 'at cost' value for the car and it was ~$100 bucks less than the selling price of $30k. I have no idea what book and at cost really mean, so I remain skeptical that this is merely a sales ploy.
To me the price seems a bit high, especially when considering how long its been on the market.
In all honesty I dont need Quattro and would have preferred to save money and getting a FWD. However, this is the only car I can find in this specific color, which I really like.
Assuming I can negotiate it down to below $27k, I am willing to stretch my budget a bit for this car. However, I'd like to hear some opinions before making a final decision.
Cheers guys

There are wo positives that I see:
1. It is a CPO which is great for piece of mind.
2. Quatro is the only way to go (in my opinion).
As for price check Autotrader for what they are listed for and then check Kelley Blue Book. That shoudl give you an idea of what a good price would be.
I love my Audi (on my second one) and can't see driving anythign else. best of luck to you.

The AWD is an Audi is perfomance based which means the car handles much better on all road conditions. In your case wet roads would be an example. The car just seems to stick to the road. If you ever run across snow (say in the mountains) you will be glad you have it.
Also, I have not read much good about the CVT fwd A4s. There are a few of those owners on here and I know one that really likes theirs.
