ouch... coolant issues help needed
well here i am faced with another problem where the car is over heating at about 110 degrees compared to the usual 90degrees, i looked in coolant resevour, and found no coolant in there, there was some a few weeks ago, i got nrma to check presure and it was good, so no leaks, i know thermo is good becauase both hoses get warm... so hmm, fan is fine its spinning, (not electric one, unless i turn a/c on)...
im going to replace coolant , does it have to be G12 or is that audi being anoying and i can just put in any anti freeze coolant?
how would i replace the coolant? should i drain the current coolant out first?
also I filled the coolant resevour with water to run it temporarily to see if hoses get warm, but car over heated again even though coolant looked nice and green after adding water.... does that mean anything
thanx

I always say to replace with Audi G12 coolant. It's a little more expensive, but it's designed for the car. If you want to drain the system, open the twist cap on the bottom of the radiator.

"See the red screw at the bottom on the driver's side of the radiator; open it just a bit and you'll see where the coolant will come out"

Here's mine when I did it. The red ****...

After you change it out. Turn the heater on full hot and full blast. If hot air comes out then that means the coolent is circulating. You may need to open the bleeder screws. They are located on the back side of the engine. Little screws on the coolent lines that turn open. I've posted pictures before. Can't find them right now.
