Overheating??
Well I haven't had my a4 for too long and I have now encountered my first problem. I can start it up and it runs fine idleing, but as soon as I start to drive the temp and oil temp raises. The oil temp goes up a bit and the engine temp goes all the way up. The car's coolent is good and the oil has just been changed. When I open the hood the engines doesn't really seem to hot. I booked it into the dealer but I couldn't get in for a week, so any help in fixing it sooner then that would be great. Thanks.
There is no way that the fuel pump will cause any engine to overheat. This isn't a "I;m new to Audis issue". Learn something about engines.
Either it is the water pump, or the engine thermostat is stuck shut. Have you checked the top and bottom radiator hoses to see if they both get hot?
There is an oil cooler which used coolant to keep the oil temperature OK. Thus if the coolant isn't circulating the oil gets hot too.
If the dealer really means
