the code P0171 says my car is running too lean, wt can i do about it

besides, whenever i turn on the car, there is some tapping noise behind the engine, sounds like coming from a valve
wt is that??

the maf is the mass air flow sensor, i think on your 1.8's its in your airbox, clean it with electronics cleaner and let it dry for a day, then drive it, be careful, very fragile

but when i check the code, it says "Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1"
in which there is nth to do with maf

so im confused......

well from what you told me that your cel came on after you put a new air filter in. so my guess is that you had an oiled filter and some oil got onto the maf and so now you need to clean it

i just finished cleaning the maf and the light is still there

is there anyway i can reset the DTC and turn the light off??
