P0410 Cel
Had my b5 throw a cel today. I found out the code is a secondary air injection malfunction. I know it has something to do with emissions I think, but does anyone know exactly what it could be? Thanks
Usually the pump just goes bad. Mine's on its way out but i havent gotten a cel for it yet. Its purpose is to help emissions during start up until the 02 sensors are warmed up and operating to take over for emissions. That process takes about 2 minutes so the 2ndary air injection is pointless imo. There is a way to keep a bad pump from triggering the cel if you have vag com. otherwise youll have to buy a new pump for about $250 if you dont want to look at a cel all the time. its bad to keep the cel on cuz if something else goes wrong with your car that would trigger a cel you wouldnt know about it unless you get your ecu scanned regularly.

How?
I get a CEL for the same code. Checked the air pump and its blowin a storm. I can extinguish the light. But it comes back one soon after the next start.
Thanks.
