Default Part Identification and Repair Advice Needed

Hello Everyone,

Recently my 2002 AUDI A4 1.8T threw solild Check Engline Light with "P0118 - Engine coolant temperature circuit, high input". I checked around and learned that I should probabily replace the sensor, so I went to the dealer and bought the parts. I went to go and change the sensor and I noticed a crack in what I have been told is something to do with the breather. If someone could help me to identifiy this specific part (as seen in the attached pictures) that would be very helpful. The part is rubber not plastic.

Thanks much,

-John

Show these pictures to the Audi Parts Dept.
It should be a $30 part + clamps.

Thanks for the help. It looks like it might be part of the ventilation for cylinder block / 1.8ltr. / 4 cylinder:

BASIC GERMAN PRICELIST
part number 06B103221B Partnumber Title Price 06B103221B SCHLAUCH 4.9 Euro

Do I need a special tool for those clips? Any secrets there?

Thanks again.

To be honest, I'm not sure about the clips - even if the factory ones require a special tool (which I doubt), there's a distinct possibility that they've been changed out for something else if a) the car was serviced in that area before, and b) if the OEM clamps were a pain-in-the-*** design (not exactly unheard-of in cars lol). I would bet that the clamps are a design that either unbolts or unscrews though - so far in my experience, Audi seems to be fairly sane in their design.

And yeah, that site kicks much ***. Lots of good info there

Break the origonal clamps off. Take the hose to a parts store
and let them sell you screw type clamps.
