Passenger-side Squeaking (Low Speeds)
Hey!
I'm relativetly new here at AudiForums and have found that the forums offer a great wealth of excellent tips and hints.
But now, I've run into a small problem/issue.
When travelling at low speeds I, sometimes, hear a sort of squeaking sound (as of two rubber pieces rubbing together) from the passenger-side of the cabin. I can't make out quite where it's coming from and I'm unable to reproduce the sound on purpose. That is, at times if I'm driving slow enough I'll hear the squeaking, and at other times there is nothing (most of the time).
Now, I've read here at the forumsthat this is probably due to my control arms dying or tie-rod ends ...
Is there a way that I can self-check for this problem, and, if it's either of the parts, how quickly should I proceed to replacing them.
I'm driving an Audi A4 1997 1.8 (Non-Turbo - I'm in Europe) with approx. 135,000KM.
If necessary I can provide photos of the area if someone can tell visually.
Thank you!
