it's not silver and it's not a fully stock body kit but it gives you a pretty good idea

You probably know that 95% of a paint job is prep work. Prep the panels properly and carefully, and apply the paint carefully (put the cans in hot water to help it atomize more finely), and you can get a very nice finish for a fraction of the money. And you can clearcoat it the same way too. Try it yourself, and if you're not happy, take it to your buddy. You're only out $20. If you go right to him and then find out later you could've done it yourself, you're out the extra $180 he charged you over the cost of the DIY job.

ALSO, a guy i know in the body shop business told me to use an adhesion promoter of some sort and DONT primer it, because its a flexible part and will chip off.

That was mentioned in another DIY thread about painting the lowers. Prep-sand it all, use adhesion promoter, then your paint, then clearcoat. The finished pics looked fantastic. Someone else mentioned a filler-primer too, which would fill in the roughness of the stone guard cast into the front chin.

Good move. Going to do mine soon as well (although with winter right around the corner, I may wait until spring so I don't get the new paintwork screwed up by flying road salt and chunks of ****.
