Default Pick up screen and oil pump

My car is running 1bar at idle and 4 bar at 3000rpm when it should be running 5-7 bar, oil pump or blocked screen?

Im running about the same. 1.5-2bar at idle and over 2500rpm right around 5bar. Its been like that since I have had the car at 34kmi, im at 115kmi now. I assumed that was normal.

My Chilton Manual says:

1.8t 29 psi minimum 2000 rpm

2.8 SOHC 15 psi minimum idle

2.8 DOHC 29 psi minimum 2000 rpm

Maximum All Engines 101 psi

What engine, what year? Had the same problem on my 2000 1.8t. Search "oil sump screen".

It's 96 AEB T, the idle pressure is fine, but the fast idle (3k rpm) is down, i wondered if a duff pump causes that or a blocked screen?

For the AEB the specs are..

Idle pressure 14.5 - 50.75 PSI

Fast Idle (3k rpm) 72.5 - 101.5

I'm getting 58 PSI @ fast idle and only 14 PSI @ normal idle.

If i change the screen or access it to clean it, might aswell change the pump anyway right?

Is this off your instrument cluster, or off a measuring block or an external oil pressure gauge?

Check with a dealer. They may cover sludge for your year. You'll need proof of oil changes.

Was that a specific recall then?

I'll give them a call but the service guys at mine don't know their *** from their elbow.
