I don't think these changes will meet CARB.

Can this car pass inspection, or will they take one look under the hood and slap a "fail" sticker on the windshield?

Anyone from California care to comment on mods vs smog inspection?

 

the main consern is passing somg, that car will never pass. i live in california and that shi* that wont pass with your laws. and second is buy a car with that many mod you know the car was beat up. take it to someone and have them check out the car its worth the money. (someone who does aftermarket stuff to audi's). if you live in so. cal. i know some getto shops that pass cars.

 

Thats not a gt28rs, gt2871, gt3076. I believe those all have a 5 bolt exhaust side outlet flange. The t3/t4's have this 4 bolt one. I may be wrong but from my past experiences the bb turbos have the 5 bolt

 

no way is that a gt28 turbo they have a 3 bolt flange. id have to agree with tom that it is a t3/t4. the manifold looks to be from atpturbo as well as the d/p

From what the owner says, the car has an ATP stage 3 turbo kit.. I see the owner of atp quite often at the sacramento raceway, so next time ill have to flag him down and talk to him. As far as smog goes, im mostly concerned about it passing the tailpipe test. The owner is putting the cat, as well as the air system all back on so itll pass colorado smog. Thats a step, but in no means will that meet CA smog. The reason im mostly concerned about the tailpipe test only, is because my neighbor owns 3 smog shops, and will over look the visuals. As far as being checked by a mechanic, read my last post.
