I beat my rommates 03' Civic Si (EP3) before I was chipped. Now I blow him away. Acceleration to 3,000 rpms feels about the same as my car but you just keep waiting and waiting for the turbo to spool and then you remember it's N/A . Plus (and this really pisses me off about Hondas) is it's one-wheel-drive. Even with only 138lb/ft of torque you still spin like crazy in his car (he can catch 3rd gear everytime). I can only imagine driving a RSX type-S (also one-wheel-drive).

I think he means no LSD to provide power to the second front wheel should one slip.

Where as we don't have lsd, we have one wheel in back and one wheel in front. Theoreticly. Very bad annogy on his part, as it does not take into account traction control and other factors. but... Hey it's his to make, I would not make it but...

Civics and RSXs DO NOT have traction control, nor do they have LSD. A4s on the other hand do have LSD, on FWD and quattro models traction goes to the tire(s) with the most traction.

yep, and the reason a type r handles so much better is because they have a good lsd. I had the teg type r lsd in my gsr tranny and it made all the diff in handling. But, even in my gsr, with skunk2 im, cai, full 2.5" catback, adj fpr, cm stg III clutch w/ cm 8lb. flywheel, and a dc 4-1 header, my car would not spin during a gear. I could get first, second and third every time, and every now and then I would get fourth, but NEVER did I lose traction during a gear.(even without the lsd) So your friend with his 03 si either sucks as a driver or just wants to let you win. I know a stock gsr will still take a chipped a4, and si's aren't much slower stock than gsr's, which is a 15.1. And you have a quattro. Best time car and driver got was a 16.9 I believe??? No F**KING way you beat him stock. Sorry to burst your bubble juju4uofa.
