hey guys, i have really never noticed this until my friend pointed it out to me. on my 98 a4 1.8t qu the passenger side mirror is smaller then the driver side. i thought it was just my car then i looked on another 98 and 97, and they both have the same thing. does someone want to explain to me whats the reason audi did this. because the car looks ugly from the front with those mirrors.

I thought the passenger side mirror was actually an option on some makes of cars over there. A full size passenger side mirror is standard on American cars.

Aerodynamics maybe? Its not like it would really make that big of a difference.

 

Its a euro thing... Or was... They changed that in 99.5 i think.

 

Bigger passenger mirror was added in the beginning of 1999.
In mid 1999 they changed the shape slightly when they updated the interior and exterior.
