okay I disconnected the negative cable, turned the key to the on position (just before turning it the full way to start) then walked over to my engine bay and I heard nothing.. do I have to wait a few minutes to hear something?

well when i do it i hear a slight humming coming from my tb and then you can see a little part click into place and should hear it as well.
just leave it in the ON position for 5 min and it should perform the TBA

LOL, yeah you need to let the car sit for about 10 min or so to let everything re-set. THen hook it back up and do the throttle body alignment.

Aw man!!! okay... disconnect the battery and let it be for 10 mins.. then go back out connect the battery and put the key in the on possition and let it sit for another 10 mins then if I hear that thing click i should be good to go.

Let it sit with the battery disconnected for 10 min. Then reconnect it and turn the car to the on position. Listen in your engine bay for the hum from your throttle body. When it's stops making the hum it's finished. Should take anywhere from 30 sec to 2 min. I have never had one take longer then 1 though.
