Default Please help! Exhaust Problem

Hello, I have a 2000 A4 1.8T quattro with automatic/tiptronic with 108k miles. I've only had this problem the last couple of days. When I start the car up the exhaust sounds very loud, it reminds me of a harley. As I start to drive the car feels somewhat resistant to accelerate. Before it would accelerate with little effort, now it feels like i'm pulling teeth to get it above 40. The exhaust is still very loud especially as I accelerate past 2000rpm. The only time the sound goes nearly away is when I step off the gas and coast. The car has always had a nice purr, but the last couple of days it just doesn't sound right. It's still pretty loud even when I'm idling. I've only had the car for a few months and haven't had any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Mike

Pop your hood and look at your cat alot of times they will break free of the flange that connects to you turbo because it is just press fitted into the flange. This happend to my car so I just replaced it with a TP.

Sounds like a leak. get under the car and look at carefully. start to car and let someone give little gas while you are looking under the car. maybe a bad gasket or something.

worst case, say hello to Borla
