Please HELP! P0421 code - installed spacers and now get P0141 (O2 Sensor Heater) code

I have a 2004 A4 3.0L Quattro Avant, smog is due in 2 weeks.
The CEL was coming on and every time I did the drive cycle, once the CATALYST monitor went "OK" the CEL came on with P0421.
Per many of the articles and posts I've read, I installed the non-fouler spark plug SPACERS and did the drive cycle. Now when the "O2 Sensor Htr" monitor goes, "OK" the CEL comes on with P0141 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2 code.
Can anyone please help me with what to do now?
