please help... power transistor?
ok so heres the deal, i had a car fire a while ago... my intake duct some how broke off and feel on top of my turbo, as i was driving to school at a meer 115 miles an hour, i was late, and i drive an audi... i was in a hurry. well anyways i was late so i parked my car... locked it and ran into class. about 45 min into class the campus police at my college came into my class looking for me but to make a long story short. my wiring harness that powers my maf, some evap sensors, and a power transistor... which sits on top of the stock air box. Ok so heres the problem during the fire, it melted my wiring harness and shorted out the ground and power to the maf and such, well after hours and hours of cutting up an old wiring harness and spliceing the wires back together after soldering, and fixing the pinched evap hoses then i went to replace the fuse which had blown, if familar fuse number 29 its a 20 amp fuse but anyway with the fuse blowen the car would run... very very poorly but it ran. now that i replaced the fuse the car starts and idles just fine, but as soon as u touch the throttle the car dies. im told that its most likely the power transistor that sits on top of the air box in fact they are very fragile when it comes to heat and the power transitor. so i called up my local audi dealer, and asked how much this part would cost... and they tell me its 375... for a little peice of plastic with some connectors and it looks like some kind of heat disapator on the bottom part that sits in the stock air box... well anyone heard of this? please help i want my baby back to good running condition...
1) You're a dumbass for going to class at 115mph
2) Thats not a power transistor its the ICM. Check in the manual to see which fuse is blowing and get back to us.
3) I say you'd best get a known good harness and replace it in total. What caused the fire?

It is either and ingnition amplifier or ICM. I don't believe
your year was drive by wire. If it is, do a throttle body alignment.
Have someone with a VAG-COM look for codes.
