I think there is a bracket that faces forward... so if you look under the seat, at the front of the seat... you might see some plugs there. But yeah... If the airbag light is ON in the dash... then these plugs are likely the culprit! If you plug them back in, you'll still have to get the car hooked up to a vag-com to get rid of the light. Disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or so MIGHT get rid of it, but I doubt it.

same wiring loom fitted to all the cars most are extras for higher spec cars, if you don't have electric seats/heaters/lumber/air bags the wiring will still be there but obviously not connected, air bag dash light and ABS should come on when ignition turned on but engine not started then they should go off in approx 4 seconds if not check if the bulbs have been removed because of a fault ( a common cheat by sales to sell cars so you don't see any problems on the dash that could spoil the sale )

If you don't have power seats, the plug will not be there for power... truuust me. I put S4 seats in my car, and there was no plug.

that depends on the age/model surely, they aren't going to make a different loom for a car dependant on model of the same or near age unless the shape changed

To check the airbag light, turn the key part way. do not start. The airbag light should be lit.
