Podi vs NewSouth
What is the difference between the Podi, and NewSouth boost guages? The Podi is at least $159, where the NewSouth is $83 (B6). Besides the fact that the pods are mounted on different sides, is there any major difference? (yes yes, podi uses Stewart Warner, and NewSouth uses VDO, I can read)
it looks to be made of cheap plastic......... it just slides over the top of the factory piece that sits there, which can lead to ill fitment and a tacky look imho
so morale of the story.... get the podi with real craftmanship and make your car look like it came that way from the factory
or pm mchammered since he owns podi.ca

well having seen the Podi in person, and talking to Winston (the genius behind the legend)
You cant pass up the customer satisfaction of Podi, the quality that goes into the product, and the OCD that Winston has for only shipping perfect ones out. Plus he posts on the forums so you can always have questions asked, and he is a fellow enthusiast making a product because its needed, not to make a on of money like all the other big companies

Thanks for the kind words.
But there are two main differences between a Podi and any other column pod on the market
1) A podi is injection molded plastic vs. a vacuum formed ABS piece. There is a difference between the two in terms of strength, torsional rigidity and texture.
2) The podi replaces the OEM column cover and uses the OEM screws to attach itself to the column. Everyone else uses double sided tape or glue.
And you may ask why does a Podi package cost so much? Well it cost $20,000 to design the pod and make it. Then you add the cost of making a custom dialled gauge that matches the OEM cluster.
If you just wanted a boost gauge I admit that there are lower cost options out there, but I would never put any of them in my car as I feel the Audi interior is just too beautiful for a stick on product to be used. That's why the pod I designed exists.
