Make the cigarette lighter go on and off with the car?

No so it wont drain the battery if he has a charger or somthing in it. I have no clue but you can wire a switch to trun it on and off if you want.

That would be sweet if you could VAG it...I'm suprised this has not come up before...It's nice when you need to charge your cell phone while you run inside somewhere or in my case charge my RC planes second battery while I'm flyin with the other one, but on the flip side it can be a problem...if anyone has any ideas put em out there...I'd be down for a switch but that's probably a hassle...and BTW the cigarette lighter is placed horribly in my opinion...right up there with the cupholders...

But I'm looking for a permanent application (I don't want to unplug it)...or if there is a way to add a concealed cigarette lighter somewhere under the dash or something up front...be more beneficial than a switch...and would be a nice addition...

 

you could definitely do it, all it would take is rewiring the power supply wire from a direct battery line to an accessory line (like the one your stereo's plugged into). but it would take some work, if youre not familiar with electrical systems, i'd leave it to a professional.
