I am not a tuner, not looking to do anything to make my car a rocketship. I don't know Audi Forums at all so let me know if this is not the right place.
I'm looking at my first Audi, 2000 AUDI A4 1.8 QUATTRO AVANT4 CYLINDER 1.8 LITER TURBO ENGINE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 112000 MILES.

It is to be for my wife. I do, however, carry a mean wrench and am generally able to fix my cars. I own a 98 Volvo, and 85 Mercedes diesel, an 89 Mazda 929, a 2001 Suby, a GMC Truck, and an old 58 MB Ponton. I'm not afraid of the wrench.

So, what should I be concerned with vis-a-vis this 2000 Audi? I'll change the TB right off the bat, but should I perform some tranny service right away too? Please don't be insulted but isn't this basically a Passat in some shape or form?

The 1.8T seems to be maybe a bit more delicate than the larger engines, but I like turbos and know how to care for them. Is 112K a lot? I am inclined to think not but you folks know better than I.

I promise to be a contributor here too, I really do like working on cars and this one won't be an exception. Neighbor owns a new A7 - Sweet ride!! Scary electrics!
