Default Possible A4 Owner

On monday i will probably be purchasind a 2003 A4 1.8TQ with just over 37K. Im new to german cars but have some knowledge on cars in general. Is there anything that i should be careful about or to look out for before writing the check? Also what are the most common problems that can occur with these cars??? I have read that the pixels in the dash can go out and are expensive and the DV valves but what else? And just some brief ownership experience will be helpful as well. Thanks

Barrett

cool.
ok back to the question. just take the car for a ride and see if you can tell if anything seems out of the ordanary. turn the radio off and listen for any clunking noises when you turn the car. and just listen for strange sounds. since the mileage is so low the timing belt wont have been changed, dosent need to be tell 60-70k miles. some people have pixle problems but not many. the dv is fine untill you chip the car. and even then it will work for a bit but its best to get a new one
