Default power radar detector through fuse box

Hey everyone, I want to power my radar detector through the fuse box instead of plugging it into the cig lighter. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Also, would doing this affect my warranty?

Open the driver's door. Remove the fuse box cover from the side of the dashboard. Find a live unused fuse. Go to Radio Shack. They will sell you a link to your detector.

I just piggy backed to one that used the same amps and made sure it was hooked up to the ignition so it would turn on when the car did.

I too piggy backed it and grounded it to a bolt up there somewhere.
