i got a 96 a4 2.8 non quattro 12v. i need to replace the power steering rack. ive been looking around and i dont know which one to buy. 1 of them is a 1 piece with a zf rack, another 1 piece with a koyo rack, a 2 piece wit a zf rack and a 2 piece with a koyo rack. i have no idea which 1 it is. can anyone help me on this one?

The ZF rack is one of the better racks and I'm not quite surewhat you mean by 1 or 2 piece? do you mean with or without inner tie rod ends?

My 99' A4 and Volvo C70have and hadan SMI from the factory, replaced the C70's with a ZF and it works great.
